Toenail Fungus Treatments

I am not going to tell you what to buy, but I have made repeated attention to a product called ZetaClear as a Fungus Treatment.

And for good reason – ZetaClear cured my nail fungus.

You can find My Personal Story here. Toenail Fungus Treatment ChoicesThere are a variety of treatments for treating nail fungus. Your basic five options are.

You can click on each link for more information.

Prescription Drugs

Prescription drugs for nail treatments are typically taken for 12 weeks on a daily basis. Your doctor will ask you many more questions about your health before this treatment is offered to you as these type of drugs can take a heavy toll on your liver and kidneys.

If you already have a prexisting problem with your kidneys, liver, or heart your doctor will also strongly advice an alternative treatment, probably one like below.

Both male and female couples that are intending to try for a baby, or are already pregnant, are strongly advised against these medications due to sterility problems.

I advice you to ready my article on Nail Fungus Medications before you decide on this treatment.

Toenail Fungus Treatments

Over-The-Counter

O.T.C. nail fungus treatments usually consist of creams, lotions or oils typically applied topically on the outer surface of the infected nail.

The main problem with these treatments, despite the claims, is that these nail treatments cannot penetrate deep in the nail to be effective, often leading to a reinfection.

O.T.C. antifungal ointments, creams and lotions work well on fungal skin infections.

They are not recommended for nails as when applied topically as they don’t penetrate the thick nail to kill the fungus that is hiding in the nail bed below the nail. More information on nail fungus creams here.

Natural Remedies

Natural Remedies for treating nail fungus have been around for hundreds of years. When we say ‘natural’ we mean the healing properties of plants that have been found to have antifungal properties.

Plants have evolved to fight off fungal invaders in their natural environments for thousands of years. These antifungal properties become the base ingredient of the product.

In modern days a natural remedy to cure nail fungus comes in the application of an essential oil from some kind of plant or herb such as Thyme, Oregano, Tea Tree Oil, extracts of Pau d’Arco bar and Laniseed Oil to name a few.

There has been considerable evidence building that many of these natural plant extracts do work. They are much safer and far less expensive that prescription drugs.

Tea Tree Oil has proven to be an effective control as it is one of the very few oils that can penetrate the nail where the fungus is hiding.

A product called Zeta Clear has this active ingredient, as well as other natural antifungal agents, and has proven excellent results.

Zeta Clear should be your first choice when deciding on a natural approach. Zeta Clear is applied topically in a simple brush on applications that effectively destroys nail fungus and prevents from coming back in.

Home Remedies and Alternative Treatments

Home Remedies have the advantage of being relatively inexpensive, however have varied and mixed reviews. Few of these have been clinically proven so it is a matter of try it and see what happens.

Some people have great success and others have none. There could be many factors here. These remedies are typically applied topically or through a soak. If you pursue one of these methods be honest with yourself.

You will need to commit to many many months of day after day, often multiple times a day, of application.

Surgery

You may find in extreme cases that the nail has become so badly infected and growing in a painful manner that surgery is your best option.

In many cases the fungal infection causes the nail to lift but staying connected at the cuticle.

A search on YouTube.com and you will find many videos that will make your fingers and toes twitch.

My Recommendation

Unfortunately not everyone has the same results from using the same Toenail Fungus Treatments.

Prescription drugs do work well but can come with common gastrointestinal side effects, possible organ damage, and will cost you a small fortune.

Natural Remedies are by far the most common as some natural anti-fungal products have shown considerable success. They are much cheaper and safer to use, and can be used for a much longer term without any complications when used properly.

If you try a Natural Remedy first you should see results within a matter of 3-4 weeks if there is a significant sign of new nail emerging. If not then you still have plenty of time to try a prescription drug from your physician or doctor.

Tea Tree Oil, Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E Oil, Lemongrass Oil and Clove Oil are a few natural ingredients you probably have heard about but didn’t realize their anti-fungal properties.

Tea Tree Oil seems to be one of the rare oils for nail fungus treatment that can penetrate your nail to attack the fungus.

A world renowned company has used these ingredients to produce a powerful anti-fungal product called Zeta Clear specifically designed for treating nail fungus.

If you decide to buy ZetaClear and you are unhappy with the product for any reason their money back guarantee will put your mind at ease.

Just remember that nail fungus will not go away.

You must use some kind of nail fungus treatment

to kill the spores hiding within your nail.
